Pascal Gross has made 25 Premier League appearances so far this season.

Pascal Gross says Albion having four games to break their record Premier League points tally shows how far the club has come.

The 2021/22 campaign marks Albion’s fifth season back in the top-flight, with Graham Potter’s men just a point shy of setting a new club record.

“As a club we’ve made very good progress in the last five years,” Gross said. “We have 41 points now which is a [joint] club record, we have four games to go and we want to use those games to break the record.

Pascal Gross had a goal ruled out for a very narrow offside against Southampton on Sunday.

“Over our time in the Premier League you see an improvement in points and you see an improvement in the way we play. We can win against big teams as we have shown in the last couple of weeks.

“Now we have to improve the way we perform at home and I think we did that against Southampton at the weekend – we scored two goals, we were positive.

“We were positive against Norwich as well, but we just missed a few opportunities to score, but importantly we had some chances and that’s where we have to improve on the pitch. Overall though we have had a lot of positives over the course of the season.”

The 30-year-old says the draw with Saints last Sunday is a reflection of playing at the toughest level.

“The Premier League is funny sometimes. You are playing well and you are 2-0 up but in the end it is an open game – you can win it or lose it. Sometimes if you can’t win, you have to get something and go on.

“If you are 2-0 up and don’t end up winning, you are always a little bit disappointed because you feel you should do better. But I see a lot of positive things.

“There are a lot of things we can improve and we want to improve, but the club is going forward every season.”
