SCHERPEN HEADS TO BELGIUM ON LOAN - 11.15PM

Kjell Scherpen made his first start for Albion in the Emirates FA Cup victory at West Brom.

Goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen is joining Jupiler League side Oostende on loan until the end of the season.

Scherpen, 22, joined Albion in the summer from Ajax and made his debut in the 2-1 win at West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup third round.

ARCE RETURNS FROM LOAN - 10.50PM

Billy Arce is back at the club after the end of his loan spell in Ecuador.

Billy Arce is back with Albion following the conclusion of his loan spell with Liga de Quito as the domestic season in Ecuador ended in December.

The midfielder has had a prolonged break having played 64 games over a two-season loan spell in Quito that also included ten goals and ten assists.

BURN JOINS NEWCASTLE - 10.45PM

Dan Burn has completed a transfer to Newcastle United for an undisclosed fee.  

The 29-year-old central defender moves to his hometown club, where he was a season-ticket holder as a boy.

LONGMAN MAKES HULL MOVE PERMANENT - 10.30PM

Ryan Longman has scored four goals in all competitions for Hull City so far this campaign.

Ryan Longman has completed a permanent move to Championship side Hull City, on undisclosed terms.

 

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a strong first half of the campaign on loan with the Tigers, including scoring a winning goal against Bournemouth recently.

BAKER-BOAITEY SIGNS FROM PORTO - 9.30PM

The 18-year-old joins from Porto.

Brighton & Hove Albion have signed Porto winger Benicio Baker-Boaitey on loan until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent move.

The 18-year-old wide player, who began his career with West Ham, will initially join Andrew Crofts’s under-23s squad, who are currently seventh in Premier League 2.

VAN DE BEEK JOINS EVERTON - 6.50PM

Donny van de Beek has joined Everton on loan from Manchester United for the rest of the campaign.

The Netherlands international had been heavily linked with a move to Crystal Palace earlier on in the window, but will now link up with newly appointed manager Frank Lampard at Goodison Park.

UNION WISH UNDAV GOOD LUCK - 6.40PM

UNDAV SIGNS FOR ALBION - 6.30PM

Deniz Undav has signed a contract with Albion until June 2026.

Deniz Undav has joined Albion from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on undisclosed terms, signing a contract until June 2026.

The player will remain on loan with Union - currently top of the Belgian Jupiler Pro League - until the end of the current season, and link up with Albion for pre-season training ahead of the 2022/23 season.

TARGETT JOINS NEWCASTLE - 6.05PM

Newcastle United have confirmed the loan signing of Aston Villa defender Matt Targett.

The 26-year-old had been Villa's first choice left-back since his arrival at the club in 2019, but has been pushed out of the team following the arrival of Lucas Digne from Everton.

BILLIE CLARK SIGNS FROM WHITEHAWK - 6PM

Billie Clark joins Albion from Whitehawk.

We can confirm that youngster Billie Clark has joined Albion under-18s from Whitehawk.

Billie is the first player to join Albion from Whitehawk since 1991, when Stuart Tuck joined as a 16-year-old trainee. ‘Tucky’ is now Whitehawk’s assistant manager.

He is also the first Whitehawk player to sign for a top-flight club since Derek Tharme joined Spurs in 1956, aged 16.

Billie, who is from Patcham, was an Albion season-ticket holder prior to joining the Hawks. He has made 11 appearances for them this season and scored two goals.

DICKER BECOMES U18 COACH - 5.05PM

Gary Dicker has called time on his playing career, having re-joined Albion at the beginning of the season.

Gary Dicker has taken up the role of joint coach of Albion under-18s alongside James Baxter, after calling time on his playing career.

The former midfielder joined Albion for a second time at the beginning of this season, becoming overage player-coach for the under-23s.

Dicker announced his retirement from playing this week on Twitter, “Officially retired and hanging up the boots. A big thank you to all the clubs, fans, players, staff and managers I’ve played with and played for. I’ve lived the dream, doing something I’ve loved day in, day out. Thank you.”

TOLAJ HEADS TO CAMBRIDGE ON LOAN - 5PM

Lorent Tolaj has nine goal involvements in Premier League 2 this season - six goals, three assists.

Striker Lorent Tolaj will spend the rest of the season on loan with League One Cambridge United.

The 20-year-old joins a Cambridge team who are sat in 12th in their first campaign back in League One, following their promotion last season.

DOUBLE SIGNING FOR SPURS - 4.50PM

A busy afternoon for Tottenham as they confirm the arrival of Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus.

Following the departure of Tanguy Ndombele earlier this afternoon, Spurs have added to their ranks with Bentancur signing a contract until 2026, while Kulusevski has joined on an 18-month loan.

NDOMBELE JOINS LYON ON LOAN - 3.45PM

Tanguy Ndombele has departed Tottenham on loan for the rest of the campaign, joining Ligue 1 side Lyon.

The 25-year-old has been a bit part player for Spurs so far this season, making 16 appearances in all competitions.

SARMIENTO SIGNS NEW CONTRACT - 2.30PM

Jeremy Sarmiento joined Albion in July 2021.

Brighton & Hove Albion are pleased to announce that Jeremy Sarmiento has signed a new contract until June 2026.

The 19-year-old made excellent progress during the first half of the season with Albion, making his Premier League debut and receiving his first senior cap for Ecuador.

MANCHESTER CITY SIGN JULIAN ALVAREZ - 2.05PM

Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Argentina international Julian Alvarez in the last few minutes.

The striker will remain with River Plate until the summer.

The 22-year-old has five senior caps for his country, having scored 36 goals in 96 appearances for River.

EVERTON CONFIRM LAMPARD AS MANAGER - 1.30PM

Not quite transfer news, but Everton have confirmed former Derby County and Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has taken over from Rafa Benitez.

The ex-England midfielder joins the Toffees on a two-and-a-half year contract, having been out of work since departing Chelsea in January last year.

ALBION COMPLETE SIGNING OF SHANN - 1PM

The youngster joins from League Two Sutton United.

Brighton & Hove Albion are pleased to confirm the signing of Casey Shann from Sutton United.

The 18-year-old left-back will join the club's under-18s squad.

BURNLEY COMPLETE WEGHORST SIGNING - 11.05AM

The second major move of transfer deadline day sees Burnley complete the signing of Netherlands international Wout Weghorst.

After the departure of Chris Wood to Newcastle, the Clarets looked a little short up top, but the signing of the 29-year-old bolsters their ranks significantly. 

ALBION'S BUSINESS SO FAR - 11AM

The 18-year-old Polish international signed a contract until June 2026 with Albion.

Albion have had a fair amount of movement so far this window, but it has mainly been loans for young players. 

That said, the capture of Kacper Kozlowski from Pogon Szczecin could prove to be an exciting one. 

The 18-year-old will spend the second half of the campaign on loan with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, having become the youngest player to make an appearance for his country at the Euros, when he came on for Poland in the summer.

He spoke to the the Brighton & Hove Albion website last week, telling us of his excitement to play in the Premier League.

Returning to the first team picture was Moises Caicedo after he was recalled from his loan with Beerschot, while Jurgen Locadia and Christian Walton left Albion in permanent moves.

CHRISTIAN ERISKEN SIGNS FOR BRENTFORD - 10.10AM

A warm welcome back to Christian Eriksen, who has signed a contract with Brentford until the end of the campaign.

The midfielder hasn't played since he suffered a cardiac arrest playing for Denmark at Euro 2020, with Phil Giles, Brentford Director of Football telling the Bees' club website, "We first discussed the possibility of Christian joining Brentford when we heard that he would be leaving Inter. It is fantastic that he is now with us.

“Naturally the process of signing Christian was more elongated than most transfers. I understand that many people will have questions about the process. In order to respect Christian’s medical confidentiality, we won’t be going into any details. Brentford fans can rest assured that we have undertaken significant due diligence to ensure that Christian is in the best possible shape to return to competitive football. Now Christian has made the decision to sign for Brentford, all parties want to focus fully on football.

“We are sure that Christian will make a big impact at Brentford and on the Premier League between now and the end of the season.”

NEW CONTRACT, ODEL OFFIAH - 10AM

Odel Offiah has signed a new contract with Albion.

Brighton & Hove Albion are delighted to confirm that Odel Offiah has signed a new contract that runs until June 2024.

The 19-year-old defender made his professional debut in the Carabao Cup win over Cardiff City in August, before earning his first start in the Emirates FA Cup victory at West Brom in January.
