The 18-year-old Polish international signed a contract until June 2026 with Albion.

Kacper Kozlowski can’t wait to test himself in the Premier League – a competition he describes as the best in the world.

The 18-year-old joined Albion from Pogon Szczecin at the start of January on a contract until June 2026, and although he is currently on loan at Royale Union St-Gilloise, the Polish playmaker is looking forward to making his Premier League debut.

“I am so excited to play in the Premier League.” said Kozlowski. “I watch a lot of games and it’s one of the best, if not the best league in the world.

“It looks very intense, every player tries to show their best qualities and they try to win as much as possible. It’s the highest level in the world and I’m really excited. I would love to play a good part in it.”

At the age of 17, Kozlowski became the youngest player ever to represent his country at the European Championships, so he isn’t used to biding his time.

However, Kozlowski’s current loan with the Belgian league leaders runs until the end of this season, and he knows he will have to be patient before playing in the Premier League.

He said, “The club have showed they give opportunities to young players and that was a big reason to join. I want to fight for my place in the side when I eventually arrive.

“For now, I’m with Union and I have a very positive opinion of the players and coaches here. They’re all very welcoming and I would like to play an active part in achieving the championship.

“I’d like to fight for as much playing time as possible here and then when I arrive in Brighton, my goals are to fight for the first team and play as many minutes as possible. When I get my chance, I want to provide the team with numbers – goals and assists.”

Kozlowski will join a growing list of Polish internationals currently plying their trade in the Premier League, not least Albion’s Jakub Moder.

The duo have played for their country together and ahead of joining Albion, Kozlowski spoke to Moder about the club.

“He presented the club in a fantastic way. He said the set up was amazing and the facilities are top. He said everyone at the club was so welcoming and the city was fantastic.

“It looks like a place with great people. I love the look of a sea city, it looks beautiful and very family orientated. I’m looking forward to calling Brighton home.”

Kacper Kozlowski spent the second part of the campaign on loan with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

And when he does call Brighton home, what can Albion fans expect to see on the pitch?

“As a style of player, I love going 1v1 or even 1v2 in good balance.” said Kozlowski. “I like passing and creating chances but also like taking players on.

“I also like to shoot from distance. I like to control the game but also put work in, both in attack and defence. I’m not afraid of defending!

“I like to work for the team and with the team. I can’t wait to get going when I arrive.”
