With the women’s international break taking place a week earlier than the men’s, Kayleigh Green and Megan Connolly will now return to the club after being on the winning sides for Wales and the Republic of Ireland respectively in their Women’s Euro 2021 qualifiers.

Green featured in a 1-0 victory over Belarus in Minsk on Tuesday night, as Rachel Rowe’s strike secured a hard-fought win to leave Wales second in Group C with seven points from their opening three qualifiers.

It was also a memorable night for Connolly, who featured for the full 90 minutes in a thrilling 3-2 victory over Ukraine in front of a crowd of 5,328 spectators at the Tallaght Stadium in Dublin – a record for a women’s international game in Ireland.

Goals from Katie McCabe and Rianna Jarrett put the side 2-0 up, before Ukraine wiped out the lead through goals from Iyubov Shmatko and Olha Ovdiychuk.

But Ireland’s decisive third came in the 53rd minute when Natiya Pantsulaya turned the ball into her own net.
