Here’s what to look out for in the next seven days.

Tuesday 8th October: Republic of Ireland v Ukraine, and Netherlands v Russia - Women’s EURO 2021 Qualifiers

Megan Connolly and Danique Kerkdijk will be hoping to gain minutes for the Republic of Ireland and the Netherlands in their Women’s EURO 2021 Qualifers against Ukraine and Russia respectively.

Connolly and her teammates are expected to be cheered on by a crowd of 8,000 people at the Tallaght Stadium in Dublin, which is set to break the attendance record for an Ireland senior women’s team match.

The Netherlands face Russia in Eindhoven on the same night, after winning their first three qualifiers to date. Kerkdijk was an unused substitute in a 4-2 victory away at Slovenia on Friday, which leaves the Dutch sitting top of Group A with nine points.

Thursday 10th October: Australia v Nepal

Aaron Mooy and Maty Ryan could become the first men’s players to sample international action this week in their World Cup qualifier against Nepal in Canberra on Thursday.

The Socceroos take on Nepal following a 3-0 victory over Kuwait in their opening World Cup qualifier.

After Thursday’s game, Mooy and Ryan will turn their attention to their next qualifier against Chinese Taipei on 15th October.

Saturday 12th October: Georgia v Republic of Ireland

Aaron Connolly will be aiming to follow his recent impressive exploits at club level with a senior international debut for the Republic of Ireland in their Euro 2020 qualifier against Georgia.

The Seagulls frontman was fast-tracked into the senior squad following his brace in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, and will be eager to help the Irish continue what has been a solid start to their qualifying campaign.

Following Saturday’s game, Ireland travel to Switzerland for another qualifier next Tuesday.
