Billy Gilmour named in Scotland’s provisional EURO 2024 squad

Midfielder named in initial 28-player squad.

Billy Gilmour made 30 Premier League appearances for Albion this season.

Billy Gilmour has been named in Steve Clarke’s provisional Scotland squad for the upcoming UEFA EURO 2024 tournament in Germany.

The Scotland boss has named a 28-player squad, which will have to be narrowed down to 26 for the start of the competition.

Billy has made 25 appearances for his country, scoring his first goal in a Scotland shirt in their 4-1 defeat to France in October.

The Scots play friendlies against Gibraltar and Finland, before facing EURO 2024 hosts Germany in the opening match of the tournament on Friday 14 July.

Scotland’s full fixture list for the summer is as follows:

  • Gibraltar (friendly) – Estadio Algarve, Portugal – Monday 3 June, 5pm
  • Finland (friendly) – Hampden Park, Scotland – Tuesday 7 June, 7.45pm
  • Germany (UEFA EURO group stage match) – Allianz Arena, Munich – Friday 14 June, 8pm
  • Switzerland (UEFA EURO group stage match – RheinEnergieStadion, Cologne – Wednesday 19 June, 8pm
  • Hungary (UEFA EURO group stage match) – MHPArena, Stuttgart – Sunday 23 June, 8pm
