The game sees Albion come up against an Irons side who knocked us out of the International Cup last month, and under-21s boss Shannon Ruth wants his team to use that defeat as motivation.
“It’s a game we’re looking forward to, we know it’ll be tough,” Ruth said. “We felt the game against West Ham in the International Cup quarter-final was a good game and one we deserved more from – I felt we did enough to win the game.
“There’s disappointment in the group because of that and we will be using it to try and make amends. But we know that just because we performed well against them last time out doesn’t necessarily play into our favour.
“We’ve got to compete, push harder and perform better than we did before. You don’t always get what you deserve.
“We know that a win on Friday would put us in a good place in PL2 and move us closer to our target, in preparation for the play-offs.
“So a strong performance is at the forefront of our minds and as a group we’re committed to doing so. We know we’re going to have to be at our best.”
