Steven Alzate made 29 appearances for Liege last season.

Steven Alzate will spend the season on loan in Belgium with Standard Liege.

The Colombia international made 29 appearances for Liege last season, scoring three times.

Technical director David Weir said, “Steven had a good loan with Liege last season, where he was a regular in the team and progressed well.

“It makes sense for him to carry on that progression this season. We will be in contact with him throughout the campaign.”

Steven joined Albion from Leyton Orient in July 2017 and made an impressive rise through the academy ranks, breaking into the first team in Graham Potter's first season in charge.

His first goal for the club came in a 2-1 Emirates FA Cup win against Blackpool the following season; 11 days later his first Premier League goal secured a memorable 1-0 victory at then reigning champions Liverpool.

He has made more than 50 appearances for Albion and was called up to the Colombian national team in November 2019.
