Jens Scheuer was pleased with his side's strong finish in the FA Cup win over Coventry United.

Jens Scheuer says it’s a ‘good feeling’ to be in the quarter-finals of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup after his side beat Coventry United 5-0.

Three goals in the closing stages ended the Championship side’s spirited resistance after Brianna Visalli had scored twice.

Substitute Geummin Lee scored twice and there was also an own goal by Coventry’s Fran Orthodoxou.

Head coach Scheuer said, “It’s a good feeling to be in the quarter-finals, there are eight teams left and we are one of them. It was a good result, and it was good for confidence after the [last game against] Aston Villa.

Poppy Pattinson gets past Coventry's Lucy Whipp.

“We deserved to win, but perhaps five goals is a bit harsh on Coventry. We played brilliantly in the last 15 minutes, so I’m happy for the girls.”

Scheuer conceded that his side are still a work in progress.

“Confidence wasn’t high after some of the results we’ve had this season and at 1-0 today you could see we were thinking we had a lot to lose. That is the mentality we have to change but we’re working hard on that and I’m really happy.

Albion's players showed their support for the Unite for Access campaign.

“We had different scorers which is good and scored different types of goals. I’m always honest and I didn’t expect us to lose today. We were favourites and we showed it but there is still a lot to do.”

Albion return to action on 8 March when we travel to WSL champions Chelsea.

“That will be a much harder game, we will the underdog but will have nothing to lose,” said Scheuer.  “No one’s place is safe, how the players train is important for me. We need competition for places if we are to grow as a team.”
