Pervis Estupinan prepares for Tuesday's game at Fulham.

Pervis Estupinan is getting a quick introduction to the rigours of the Premier League as he prepares to face Fulham tonight.

There has been little chance for the Ecuadorian defender to bask in the glory of Saturday’s 1-0 win over Leeds and his contribution on full debut to our third win in four games.

It’s a quick turnaround with Tuesday's trip to Craven Cottage but it’s something Estupinan is familiar with from his time in La Liga at Villareal.

“That’s the Premier League,” he said. “I will get used to it but in my previous club we played in a lot of competitions and had a lot matches. We recover well and get ready for the next game around the corner.”

Estupinan says he felt ‘really good’ at the Amex on Saturday. Graham Potter withdrew him in the closing stages but Estupinan looked as if he’d played 100 times in the Premier League such was the apparent ease with which he settled into his role on the left of the back four and those eye-catching bursts to support the Albion attack.

“I think the system is like what I was used to. I’ve worked on a back line of four at Villarreal but I’ve got no problem if the coach changes the system, I have to adapt to what he says.

“It was my first full game sand I felt really good. Equally, you can always improve things and I will have to keep working to keep progressing and keep doing things well.

“I’m always conscious of the fact that I have to defend but I love to attack and link up with the attackers and get my crosses in.”

Estupinan seems to have settled quickly into his role and it’s the same off the pitch where compatriots like Moises Caicedo are helping him adapt.

“Because Moises is a compatriot I saw Brighton play a lot and that was why I chose to come here. Having a colleague here makes it easier to adapt. His English is better but I’m studying bit by bit. There are people in the club who speak Spanish though like Bruno, and they help me adapt.”
