Moises Caicedo has revealed the part he played in convincing his international teammate Pervis Estupinan to join his at Albion.
Albion now have three Ecuadoreans, with Jeremy Sarmiento making up the trio, and Moises is “excited” for the future.
Speaking after yesterday’s 1-0 win over Leeds United at the Amex, he explained “I told him it’s a big club and that coming here would really suit him. I said he would just have to train well, work hard and the rest will come because it’s a great club.
“I am really happy that he is here playing for this great club, and I am sure he is going to have a really good season, shine here and show his football. I am learning more English and at times I try to help Pervis. He only started learning recently and l am here for anything that he doesn’t understand to help him settle in.”

Leeds made for difficult opponents, but Albion were on song again as Moises and midfield partner Argentine Alexis Mac Allister dictated play.
“It was very tough, like all games at this level,” added Caicedo. “We managed it well. We had moments when they won the ball off us, but we were very strong at the back and that is very important.
“I am enjoying playing alongside Alexis, and it helps because we speak the same language. It makes things more comfortable, he is always guiding me and I’m guiding him.
“We understand each other very well on the pitch and that’s important. For Brighton we are team-mates and we are working well together.”
