Adam Webster played at the centre of Albion's defence against West Ham.

Adam Webster reckons if Albion had avoided little mistakes this campaign, they could have been looking at a top half finish.

Albion took the lead against West Ham on Saturday night with six minutes to play through Danny Welbeck, but Said Benrahma equalised three minutes later to ensure that both sides took a point.

“It definitely feels like two points dropped,” Webster reflected. “We have probably dropped the most points from winning positions in the league. That’s got to change if we want to kick on as a club – it’s frustrating and it’s happened too often this season.

“It’s a good finish from [Said] Benrahma, but it could have been avoided had we managed the game better. If we’d have turned half of our draws into wins this season we’d probably be looking at a place in the top ten. It’s got to change for next season.

The defender was disappointed in the way Albion surrendered their lead against the Hammers.

“We want to be higher up the table. We believe in our squad and that we can aim higher. It’s small margins and we want to try and break into that top ten.”

Albion play their final home game of the campaign on Tuesday night against Manchester City, with 7,900 supporters in attendance.

“It’ll be amazing to have supporters back at the Amex,” Webster added. “We saw the FA Cup final and it was great to see fans back in. We can’t wait for Tuesday night.

“We have got two tough games left now, but we want to get the points that help us beat last season’s points tally [41].”
