Simon Rusk's side are unbeaten after four games in Premier League 2.

Simon Rusk says that his young Seagulls side can take plenty from their second EFL Trophy game of the season.

What were your thoughts on the game overall?

“There’s loads to learn from tonight. We were a young side, especially the players that finished the game.

“Wimbledon were worthy winners and their experience told, but we can take a lot from this evening and learn from it.”

What are those biggest lessons the team can learn from tonight?

“We had a tough first half, but we hung in there, that’s a lesson in itself in terms of game management and making sure you stay in a match.

“We did that and had our moments in the second half, but we didn’t hurt their goal enough. It’s about key moments in games and taking care of those in first team football.

“Wimbledon had a lot of EFL experience and that’s why this competition is so good for us because our lads get to come up against that.”

How good is it for members of your group to get that experience in a senior setup ahead of tomorrow’s game with Preston?

“We’ve got quite a few of the lads involved in the setup for the Carabao Cup and that’s brilliant.

"We’ve got Chelsea at home in the league on Friday night and then potentially another EFL Trophy game followed by West Ham in the league as well.

“We’ve gone a long time without football so we’re loving every minute of it, it’s a busy period but we’re tackling the games the best we can.”
