Albion defender Dan Burn salutes the travelling fans at Molineux earlier this month.

Alexis Mac Allister may have only played the last few minutes of Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Molineux but Burn saw more than enough to suggest there is a lot more to come from his team-mate.

The midfielder returned to the club in January after spending the first half of the season on loan to Boca Juniors.

He said, “Alexis showed signs of what he can do, he’s very good from what I’ve seen so far.

“He’s very quick in tight areas and plays without many touches, his awareness around the final third is really good.

“He’s come in match fit as he had played a lot of games. Wolves was a tough place to make his debut so he should be really happy with his performance, hopefully we can see more of him.”

The shutout against Nuno Espirito Santo’s men was Albion’s first of 2020 and Burn revealed the team had spoken about the unity needed to secure such a result in the build-up to the game.

“We talked about how far togetherness can take you, and we showed that against Wolves.

“We worked hard for one another and had to be resilient. We read the game well and put them under pressure as the game went on.

“We’ve had some gritty away performances and we’ve shown a different side of us in those. If we can bring that spirit into every game between now and the end of the season, we’ll be fine.

Graham Potter’s side are next in action when Arsenal visit the Amex this Saturday. Goals from Adam Webster and Neal Maupay secured a memorable 2-1 win at The Emirates back in December.

“Whenever you play against the top teams the pressure can be off slightly because people might not expect you to get anything,” said Burn.

“We’ve played a lot of the top teams away from home. We’ve beaten Arsenal and Tottenham already this season. Our run-in will be tough, but I think we’ll shock a few people and pick up some results.”

“We need the fans with us. The more the crowd is behind you the better it is for the team – it can also put the pressure on the away side too.

“Our fans have been great, and we need to stick together through to the end of the season.”
