Powell nominated for February award

The Albion manager has made the shortlist for the prestigious honour for the second month of 2020.

Hope Powell has been nominated for February's Barclays FAWSL manager of the month award.

The Albion manager has been included on a three-person shortlist for the award, which also includes Emma Hayes (Chelsea) and Casey Stoney (Manchester United).

The Seagulls recorded two impressive results during the month, claiming a 1-0 victory over Everton before sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

Aileen Whelan was on target in both matches, taking her league tally to five goals for the season.

Their final league match in February was on Sunday, when Rianna Dean’s penalty was enough to give Tottenham Hotspur a 1-0 win at The People’s Pension Stadium.
