Graham Potter thanks the fans at final whistle.

Second half goals from Leandro Trossard and Shane Duffy saw off the Canaries' challenge on the south coast, and the boss highlighted the importance of staying humble after a third consecutive home victory.

He said, “We want to keep the home form going, everyone would say that the most important relationship is the one that you have with your home supporters.

“It took a bit of time to feel familiar with how we’re playing, but three victories here at the Amex is good for us, now we just have to focus on the next match and see if we can improve further.

“We’re attacking well at the moment and I thought we played with courage and intelligence. We won’t get carried away and the table doesn’t mean too much at this stage. We need to enjoy this tonight and then get ready for Manchester United next weekend.”

Graham Potter watches on from the dugout against Norwich City.

Marco Stiepermann hit the crossbar for the visitors during the first half before the sides went in level at the interval, and Potter spoke of his satisfaction as Albion kept their fourth clean sheet of the season.

“It was another good afternoon for us and it’s pleasing to get the three points and a clean sheet, Norwich carry a constant threat and went close in the first half," he continued.

“We had to be disciplined and I thought we scored at the right time. We had to be patient, sometimes when you’re the home side and the emphasis is on you to make something happen it can be challenging.

“I thought we managed the game well and deserved to win the contest.”

Shane Duffy scored Albion's second goal against Norwich.

Both goals for the Seagulls came from substitutes, as the head coach introduced the pair of Trossard and Duffy into the fray from the bench, and he praised the impact of the Belgian and Irish internationals.

“Leandro got the goal which changed the game - they’re [goals] the most important thing in football.

“It’s nice for him to come on and influence the game again like he did last weekend, as you can imagine he’s really eager to start - but he’s still coming back from an injury and so it’s good for us to be able to use him in the latter stages of the game.

“The second from Shane [Duffy] was really important to kill the game off. I’m really pleased for him, because he’s frustrated not to be starting, but his attitude has been great and he was rewarded for that today.”
