The Belgian midfielder returned from injury to enter the action with the Seagulls 2-1 down, before playing a pivotal part in helping the side turn the score around to seal a dramatic 3-2 victory in injury time.

He said, “Last week it was a really difficult feeling to concede so late, which makes it feel even better to finally get those three points.

“We deserved more last week and today we had a great mentality to turn it in our favour - we’re all really happy with the spirit we showed, and it’s an unbelievable feeling.

“Everton are a very good team and we knew they had some top-quality attacking players, so it makes this win even better for us.”

Albion celebrate their last minute winner last weekend.

Trossard picked up a groin injury when he was away on international duty with his country at the start of September - he spoke openly about the tough time he’s had recently, and also praised the club’s medical staff behind the scenes for their support.

“It’s been a difficult time with the injury, it’s the worst feeling as a player when you’re watching from the stands,” he continued.

“But you have to work hard to get back as soon as possible, and I’m delighted to be back on the field and helping the team.

“I feel good and I was quick to get back on the grass when I suffered the injury, so my rehab process was good.

“Everyone behind the scenes has helped me so much, and it makes it easier to deal with when you have those people around you.”

Graham Potter’s side entertain Norwich City next weekend at the Amex Stadium, and Trossard spoke of the importance of using today’s win as a catalyst going forward.

“I want to start games now, as any player does, and both me and the team have a lot to build on after this result.

“I think we deserved more points at this stage given our performances and perhaps we could be higher in the table, but every game is tough in this league.

“We have a lot of belief to take into the home game back here next weekend, and we want another positive result. We have a nice style of play that the head coach is asking us to do - we create a lot of chances and that suits my game very well, hopefully we can continue to do this for the rest of the season.”
