Graham Potter celebrates after the win over Everton.

A penalty from Neal Maupay and an injury time own goal from Lucas Digne gave the Seagulls a dramatic win on the south coast, turning around a 2-1 deficit to seal a 3-2 victory; the boss was understandably thrilled with the spirit and determination his men showed.

He said, “It was a dramatic game and to turn the match around in the way that we did is an amazing feeling for everybody.

“We got back level and believed we could go on to win the game - the equaliser is a really important moment, because then there was a feeling in the stadium that we could push and get three points.

“Victories are so valuable in this league and very hard to achieve, so we’re delighted.”

The significant talking point of the game was the decision to award Albion a penalty with just over ten minutes left to play on the south coast, as Aaron Connolly was adjudged to have been fouled by Michael Keane.

“I’ll look at it again but we’ve had a few that haven’t gone our way recently, so if we have had a bit of luck then I think those that have watched us over the last ten games would probably say that we’ve earned that fortune,” he continued.

“I thought it was a really competitive game and Everton made it difficult for us, so it’s a big win.

“Everyone gave their all, but I thought Steven Alzate and Neal Maupay were our two best players, we weren’t as good as we have been, but that’s the beauty of football - sometimes you can play not so well and get the three points.

“It’s important that you have a nice feeling at home between the players and the fans - now we have another tough game next weekend."
