The Dutchman recognises that Albion are creating more goalscoring openings with the new system put in place by the head coach, and insists it’s crucial to keep the faith that the new tactical approach will eventually reap its rewards.
He said, “You look at it in two different parts, in terms of the points we’ve got and the performances we’ve been putting in.
“I thought we played well in most of our games, and that’s why we deserve more points. It’s disappointing, but we need to keep doing what we have done and the results will come.
“It’s changed quite a bit, and we’re a bit more comfortable on the ball now. We like to have the ball ourselves and control the game. In a lot of the games we’ve done very well, but we need to score more goals.
“Last season we had far fewer chances and our ratio of scoring goals was higher. We just need to keep going.”
Propper explained that a number of unfortunate results will not alter the way Albion approach games, and says all that is missing is a cutting edge in the final third.
“As a group we have to stay clear in what we want. We see every game back and look at what we do well and not so well," he continued.
“We are creating a lot of chances, and perhaps the last decision or last pass is not right, and we need to be quicker in scoring goals.”

Attention then turned to Saturday’s game against Everton, and Propper is encouraging his team-mates to build on the positives from last week’s performance away at Aston Villa. He also spoke about the recent introduction of Aaron Connolly and Steven Alzate, and is delighted to see the club's academy players getting chances to impress in the first team.
“We have a good record against them and have to do the same things that we did last week, apart from getting a red card. On the other hand, we played very well against Villa, and we just have to keep playing as we are.
"A lot of youth players have come through to the first team and some are also very close to breaking into the side after going on loan. I think the club develops the youth very well here, and the facilities help to develop a good atmosphere. It’s good to see the young lads doing very well."
