In their last match, Hope Powell’s side were overcome by current WSL champions Arsenal, but the team will take solace in their performances before that match, which has seen them make an improved start in the league compared to last season.

In our only home match so far this season, an Aileen Whelan goal almost proved to be the difference against Chelsea, until Adelina Engman's stoppage-time equaliser stopped the Seagulls claiming all three points.

West Ham have had a mixed start to the campaign, winning one and losing two of their opening three league matches, and were defeated 2-0 by league newcomers Tottenham Hotspur at the London Stadium last time out.
