Albion once again open their league campaign against the Vixens, after kicking off their inaugural WSL campaign against them last season. This time the fixture is reversed and we have travelled to Bristol in search of an opening day win.

The fixture will also be played at Ashton Gate, the main stadium of Bristol City.

Last time we met

It was a frustrating day out in Bristol when we last met in February. The downpour of rain the night before made conditions difficult, as the two sides played out a 0-0 draw.

Hope Powell would have felt that her side could have brought three points back to the south coast, after Ini Umotong’s effort cannoned off the crossbar and a Victoria Williams header was cleared off the line.
