12 July 2019

Last week it was announced that Hope Powell’s side would travel to the Stoke Gifford Stadium to play Bristol City in the league’s curtain raiser on Sunday 8th September.

Albion’s opening home fixture will be played one week later on Sunday 15th September against Chelsea at The People’s Pension Stadium. The Seagulls will then travel to last season’s FA WSL champions Arsenal on Sunday 29th September to round off the first month of the season.

West Ham United will be the second side to visit Sussex, as they head to The People’s Pension Stadium on Sunday 13th October. This is then followed by a visit to Merseyside a fortnight later to take on Everton at the Merseyrail Community Stadium.

The third month of the campaign sees last season’s fourth-placed team Birmingham City provide the opposition for Hope Powell’s team on Sunday 17th November, before the Seagulls head north for a clash with league newcomers Manchester United the following week.

Three league matches will be played in the month of December, kicking off with the visit of Reading on Sunday 1st December. The second promoted side from last season’s Women’s Championship, Tottenham Hotspur, will host Albion a week later before finishing 2019 with an away trip to current Continental Tyres and FA Cup holders Manchester City on Sunday 15th December.

Following a three-week break over the festive period, Albion kick-off 2020 with back-to-back home matches. Liverpool will be the team’s first test of the New Year on Sunday 5th January, before Arsenal visit The People’s Pension Stadium seven days later.

Albion then return to the scene of their biggest win of last season, as the team head to Rush Green to take on West Ham United on Sunday 19th January.

February represents a busy month of action for Hope Powell’s side, with four league matches scheduled to be played.

First up are Everton on Sunday 2nd February, and then a trip to the Midlands to play Birmingham City on Sunday 9th February.

A further two home matches will be played that month, with both of the division's newcomers visiting Sussex, starting with a midweek match against Manchester United on Wednesday 12th February before the visit of Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 23rd February.

One home and one away league match will be played in March, starting with a trip to Reading on Sunday 22nd March before welcoming a visit of Bristol City one week later.

The end of season run-in then starts with trip to London to face Chelsea on Sunday 5th April. Albion’s penultimate, and final away match of the season, is a visit to Merseyside to take on Liverpool on Sunday 26th April.

The season will then end on Saturday 16th May, as 2016 FA WSL champions Manchester City visit Sussex in the final round of fixtures.
