Tyler Silsby came on and scored twice, while playing an important role in Albion's sixth of the night.

Our men’s under-18s registered their most impressive result of the season on Thursday with a stunning 6-0 win over Aston Villa at Villa's Bodymoor Heath training ground.

Albion took an early lead when they countered from a Villa corner. Shane Nti played a well weighted ball over the top for Nehemiah Oriola who did well to get away from his marker before slotting home.

They doubled their advantage after 27 minutes when Aiden West made a perfectly timed run in behind from Charlie Tasker’s pass, before selflessly playing it across goal for Joe Belmont to tap in.

Shane Nti was credited with the assist for our opening goal against Villa.

Inigo Calderon’s team had their third three minutes after the restart. Oriola won the ball on the edge of the Villa box before his cross wasn’t dealt with by the hosts, with Ronnie Gorman taking advantage when his strike deflected in.

Under-16 Tyler Silsby came off the bench for the final 30 minutes and was pivotal in Albion extending their lead. Remiero Moulton played the youngster in with 80 minutes gone and he fired past Villa keeper Alex Hammond, before a move that started with goalkeeper Lorenz Ferdinand ended with Sahil Bashir cutting the ball across for Silsby to fire home.

Albion rounded off the scoring with four minutes to go when Silsby won possession 25 yards form the Villa box and Nti powered home our sixth.

Calderon said, “I’ve said a few times this season that our previous game is the best we’ve played this season – and it’s been the truth – but we’re improving every week and yesterday was nearly perfect. It has to be something like that if you want to win 6-0.

Inigo Calderon's team moved up to seventh in Premier League South thanks to the win.

“We had a big improvement out of possession and we only conceded three chances. We improved from last weekend which had been our best performance and the whole team was amazing in and out of possession.

“I am really happy for the boys, because the way they are improving even when they’ve played so well is down to how they train every day and I am really pleased for them.”

The result marked back-to-back wins from Albion following their 1-0 victory over Leicester last week, as well as lifting them up a place into seventh in Premier League South.
