Sahil Bashir put Albion in front after 20 minutes.

Inigo Calderon hailed his team’s 1-0 win over Leicester City on Saturday as their best ‘team performance’ of the season.

Sahil Bashir scored the only goal of the game with a smart finish into the bottom corner after being teed up by Remiero Moulton.

The result brings an end to a run of four straight defeats in Premier League South, leaving Albion in eighth spot.

“I am really pleased with the win today,” Calderon said. “I thought it was a professional performance from the whole team.

Inigo Calderon's team are eighth in Premier League South.

“It was the best team performance because every person played their part. They understood their role in every part of the game.

“The first half was really good. In the second half Leicester improved and were maybe a bit better than us, but we defended really well. We conceded two attempts in the whole game so I think it was clear that the boys have taken on what we’ve said recently.

“When you keep a clean sheet you have got a great chance of winning. The boys deserved that result because they have been working hard, sometimes they haven’t got the results, but they’ve always tried to do well. Now we go again against Aston Villa on Thursday.”
