Deniz Undav has been in scintillating form for Stuttgart.

Striker Deniz Undav celebrated his first call-up to the Germany squad with two more goal involvements as Stuttgart made it eight games unbeaten in the Bundesliga.

The on-loan Albion striker was selected for Germany’s friendlies against Netherlands and France last week and continued his fine domestic form by setting up goals for Enzo Millot and Serhou Guirassy as Stuttgart made it eight games without defeat with a 3-0 away win over Hoffenheim.

Undav now has 20 goal involvements in 21 matches. Fellow Albion loanee Mo Dahoud made a late appearance from the bench.

In Belgium, Steven Alzate played for 69 minutes in Standard Liege’s 4-0 win over KAS Eupen which lifted them up to tenth in the Juliper League while Kacper Kozlowski helped Vitesse draw 1-1 with Almera City in Holland with Adrian Mazulu an unused substitute.

DOMESTIC

There were mixed fortunes for two of our loan players as Ipswich Town improved their Championship promotion prospects with a 6-0 win over struggling Sheffield Wednesday.

While conceding six times for second-bottom Wednesday made it an afternoon to forget for goalkeeper James Beadle, midfielder Jeremy Sarmiento came off the bench to set up Ipswich’s fifth goal for fellow sub Ali Al-Hamadi when his shot came back off the post.

Yasin Ayari came off the bench, but Andrew Moran remained on it as Blackburn eased their relegation worries with a goalless draw at Middlesbrough while Swansea’s 2-0 win over Cardiff provided Carl Rushworth with a clean sheet and was their fifth win in the last six games against their bitter south Wales rivals.

In League One Marc Leonard played the entire game but couldn’t prevent mid-table Northampton from losing 2-0 at Wycombe. Ed Turns picked up a yellow card and was substituted late on as Crewe slipped up 3-1 at MK Dons in League Two, their third defeat in four as the promotion and play-off battle intensifies in the fourth tier.

WOMEN’S

Reading’s struggles in the Championship continued with a 5-0 defeat at leaders Southampton. Albion loanee Lulu Jarvis came off the bench in the second half.
