Mikey Harris admitted Albion were well beaten by Manchester United.

Mikey Harris had no complaints after Albion exited the FA Cup with a 4-0 home defeat to Manchester United.

The visitors won comfortably thanks to goals from Millie Turner, Nikita Parris, Lucia Garcia and Lisa Naaslund and it could have been worse but for some fine saves by Sophie Baggaley against her former club.

“It was a tough night. United were very good,” admitted Albion’s interim head coach. “United pressed really well. On a few occasions we got out but not consistently and I have to look at that and review how I can help the players better.

“I take responsibility for the way we want to play but you have to find ways of getting round the strategies of the opposition.”

One highlight for Albion was Baggaley’s performance. “I thought Baggers was excellent,” added Harris. “She made some fantastic saves. I’ve been really pleased with her, the way she has brought into the way we want to play has been brilliant.”

Albion can now focus on their battle to move up the WSL, starting with next Sunday’s game against Manchester City.

“You can respond to a setback like this and use it as fuel to drive forward or you crumble, and I know what I and the group will do," added Harris.

“We have to take any difficult moment and feel it, that’s important. I feel really disappointed and pretty low right now but very quickly you have to move on. We have to process this result and then look forward.”
