Mikey Harris felt Albion were unlucky not to get some reward against Liverpool.

Albion fell to a narrow 1-0 WSL defeat against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon at Broadfield Stadium after Ceri Holland's second-half goal sealed the three points.

Interim head coach Mikey Harris felt the team merited at least a point.

"We're disappointed," he said. "I felt like we deserved something out of the game, particularly in the second half. We had a couple of big chances and a lot of momentum.

"Unfortunately we weren't able to make that count and get a goal that would have got us something out of the game. If we had scored during that period when we had the momentum and were on top then maybe we could have given ourselves a platform to go and get all three points.

Tatiana Pinto challenges ex-Albion defender Emma Koivisto.

"We're really disappointed not to get anything out of the game because I felt the players deserve something for their courage with the ball. They're all disappointed because they care a lot about performing well for this football club - it's a disappointing day."

Albion now head into an international break with 12 players representing seven countries over the next two weeks.

"We're very proud of them for that and we wish them well on their international window," added Harris. "The players that aren't involved for their countries will still work really hard in training. We've got a friendly game this week to give some minutes to those players that need it and who are coming back from injury.

"Then when the players return from international duty we'll be building into the Bristol City game on 3 March."
