Loan report: Swansea claim first win in six

Carl Rushworth has made 20 Championship appearances for Swansea City.

Swansea City brought an end to a five-game winless run under new interim boss Alan Sheehan, with Carl Rushworth making his 20th Championship appearance for the Swans in the 2-1 win over Rotherham.

For the rest of our players out on loan, it was a mixed weekend of results.

EFL and Women's FA Cup

Andrew Moran’s Blackburn fell to a second consecutive defeat as they were beaten 2-0 at home by Leeds, while Chelsea Ferguson was brought on as a substitute for Blackburn Women in their 4-0 FA Cup win over Darwen.

Reading Women also booked their spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 4-0 victory over Cheltenham, with Lulu Jarvis coming on for the final 15 minutes.

Jeremy Sarmiento completed his first full 90 minutes for West Brom in their 2-1 defeat to Sunderland, while Yasin Ayari an unused sub in Coventry’s 2-0 win over Birmingham.

Marc Leonard got an assist in Northampton’s 3-0 win over Fleetwood to make it four wins from five for the Cobblers, who shot up from 19th to 12th in League One.

Cam Peupion came on for the final 25 minutes of Cheltenham’s 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers, while James Beadle’s Oxford slipped from third to sixth with a 3-0 away defeat at Peterborough.

International

Kacper Kozlowski got the assist for Vitesse Arnhem’s winner against Heracles Almelo, with the 1-0 victory lifting Vitesse off the bottom of the Netherlands' top tier after a seven-game winless run.

Abdallah Sima scored his fourth goal in three games when he netted in Rangers’ 3-1 win over Dundee, with Rangers Women also securing a victory - Libby Bance scored for the Gers in their 5-0 win over Motherwell to keep them top of the Scottish SWPL.

Kjell Scherpen kept his seventh clean sheet of the campaign in Sturm Graz’s 1-0 victory over SCR Altach and Steven Alzate assisted Standard Liege’s second goal in their 2-2 draw with Anderlecht

Deniz Undav played for 85 minutes in Stuttgart’s 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen in what was a top of the table clash, with Leverkusen in first and Undav’s team just five points behind in third in the Bundesliga.

Bailey Smith was an unused substitute in Worthing’s 4-4 draw with St Albans City in Conference South.
