Lewis Dunk levelled against Liverpool on Sunday.

Albion skipper Lewis Dunk wants Albion to rediscover the form that has made them such a formidable team under Roberto De Zerbi.

He lamented a five-minute spell against Liverpool that saw the Reds take a 2-1 lead at The Amex on Sunday before the skipper stabbed home a 78th-minute equaliser as it finished 2-2.

“Sloppiness from us [allowed Liverpool a route back into the match]. I gave the ball away cheaply. They’re top players and they’re going to capitalise on that,” said Dunk.

Dunk and Adingra on Liverpool draw

“Then we did it again two minutes later and conceded twice. So we’ve got to keep improving, keep learning, keep working hard. But we’ve shown great character again.

“After a 6-1 defeat (away to Aston Villa), we’ve come back from 2-0 down (to draw in Marseille) and then from 2-1 down again today (against Liverpool).

“We’ve got character in the team, we just need to get that final bit to click. I think we were the better side throughout, especially the first 40 minutes. Then we had a funny five minutes.

“I gave the ball away, they scored and we’ve been cheap in our box where we’ve got to be better. Then we’ve shown great character to fight back into the game in the second half and get a draw.”

Dunk believes the reaction to going behind kicked Albion back into life.

“We got in at half-time and said we had a good 40 minutes and a mad five minutes which hurt us,” he added. “We had to go out again and be the better team in the second half. I think we reacted well at that point.”
