Igor Julio can’t wait to experience the ‘best league in the world’ for the first time.

The left-sided central defender joined Albion from Fiorentina last month and made his debut in Sunday’s friendly against Rayo Vallecano.

Now the 25-year-old Brazilian is looking forward to making his Premier League bow with Albion kicking off the new campaign at home to promoted Luton Town today.

“The excitement for my first Premier League season is the greatest as possible," he said. "I can't wait to debut, to be able to feel that cold in the stomach knowing that now I'm playing in the best and biggest league in the world. My expectations are the highest and for me this a dream coming true. I can't wait to start living this dream.”

Igor Julio can't wait to make his Premier League debut. 'It's the best league in the world' he said.

The rest of the squad were in America for the Premier League Summer Series when he arrived last month but Igor says it hasn’t taken him long to embed himself into the squad.

“My first days here have been so good - a time to prepare, adapt, get to know my teammates, the club, the city, the coaching staff. Everyone welcomed me here very well, and I was very impressed by the quality of this team. With the individuals in the squad I am sure we can achieve great things this season.

“Last weekend's friendly helped me a lot - playing in our stadium, feeling the crowd present. But I think when I make my Premier League debut I will have that same feeling again, or even more, which is normal. These are the things that motivate me to show my quality. I'm so happy. I can't wait to start and have a great season.”
