Summer Series: Brentford 0 Albion 2

Having narrowly lost our opening Premier League Summer Series match 4-3 to Chelsea, we responded with a 2-0 victory over Brentford in Atlanta on Wednesday night.

The Magpies on the other hand have drawn both of their matches against Aston Villa (3-3) and Chelsea (1-1).

The opposition

Eddie Howe has been active in the transfer market so far, bringing in key targets in Sandro Tonali from AC Milan and Harvey Barnes from Leicester City.

They have bolstered a team that finished fourth in the Premier League last season, seeing them qualify for the Champions League for the first time since 2003.

Our last meeting - Newcastle 4 Albion 1, May 2023

PL Highlights: Newcastle 4 Albion 1

Deniz Undav’s own goal and Dan Burn’s effort just before half-time put Newcastle in control, before our German striker pulled one back just after the break. We would be punished for looking for late goals though, as Callum Wilson and Bruno Guimaraes fired in late on to make it 4-1.
