Kayleigh Green scored her first goal of the season against West Ham on Sunday.

Kayleigh Green wants Albion to try and build on Sunday's vital win over West Ham when they return to WSL action on Wednesday.

Green scored her first goal of the season in the 1-0 win as Albion kept their first clean sheet of the campaign.

It will put the squad in good heart ahead of another home match against Arsenal tomorrow.

"It was fantastic to get the three points but we were more excited to get the clean sheet," she said. "That's one thing that we've been looking for in the last few games.

Kayleigh Green on her superb winner against the Irons

"We've got a great defence and amazing goalkeepers. Megan Walsh stepped in at the last minute on Sunday so I tip my hat off to her and the back line for what they've had to deal with over the last few games. It's no surprise that we got a clean sheet. We've been trying to improve on defensively.

Green emphasised the mentality shift amongst the squad since Melissa Phillips' arrival as head coach just over one month ago, and believes the American coach has provided a clearer vision for the team's identity moving forward.

"I always felt that we had a winning mentality, I just think Mel has helped us pull little bits to make it work and she's allowed it to click," added Green. "Since coming in she's given us an identity to build on and that's helped a lot."

Green insists the team will carry their positive energy into that clash with the Gunners.

"We've got a big game on Wednesday and that's where our focus is until that last game of the season, it's about being ready for the next game and not thinking too far ahead."
