Kaoru Mitoma wants us to build on our win over Stoke City on Tuesday with another victory this Saturday against West Ham.
The Japan international set up Evan Ferguson to slot home the only goal of the game in our Emirates FA Cup victory and is keen to carry on both his own and the team’s momentum.
“We had a lot of draws, so it was important to win against Stoke. We got a good result and we want to speed up again from here,” he said.
“It was huge that we managed to get a goal in the first half, that gave us an advantage. It was a tough match, but the important thing is that we won. We can build on it.

“There are also many things to improve for the second part of the season. We have to recover ourselves quickly. The Premier League is the most important, so we want to win another match and get momentum.”
The 25-year-old has combined on the left flank with Pervis Estupinan since he came into the team, but following the Ecuadorian’s recent injury Tariq Lamptey has filled the vacancy left by the former Villareal man.
“Tariq likes to go up and he can build up inside as well,” Kaoru continued. “He can also bring the ball forward. Compared to playing with Estupinan, I opened a little more distance from him and let him bring it forward more often.
“Sometimes we made good attacks by taking position in two different places. I think we have created a good relationship.”
