Harry Mills scored twice in our 3-1 win over Arsenal.

Arthur Brammer is pleased with the character and mentality his under-18s are showing as they prepare to face Crystal Palace tomorrow (11am).

A superb brace from left-back Harry Mills, which included a wonderful free-kick, secured Brammer’s team a 3-1 victory at Arsenal in their last game and Brammer, the club’s professional development phase coach, was delighted with what he saw.

“Harry deserved his two goals. It was a brilliant free-kick – and his celebration was unreal as well with his arm whirling around his head! The lads loved it and it showed their togetherness.

“We speak to them about having good daily habits, about doing things the right way Monday to Friday and then taking that into a matchday with a winning mentality. That’s what we did against Arsenal. It was a result that’s been coming.

Arthur Brammer knows Saturday's game against second-placed Crystal Palace will be tough.

“We have played really well in patches recently but it was good to see it all come together for the full 90 minutes.

“We showed good resilience to come from behind, were rewarded for our attacking play and defended well when we went 3-1 in front. We dug in and showed strength of character.”

Albion might need to show those qualities again when they face Palace with the Eagles flying high in second place.

“Palace are doing well but we’re ready for it, the boys are buzzing. It’s a local rivalry and it means a lot to both clubs. It’s always a fixture you look out for.

“We want to have good standards and play with the Brighton identity. We did that against Arsenal and it worked well, and we will try again against Palace. We can’t wait to play.”
