Andi Zeqiri scored his ninth goal of the season for FC Basel on Saturday.

Andi Zeqiri will be looking to transfer his domestic goalscoring form for FC Basel into Europe later this week.

The 23-year-old striker, who is on loan with the Swiss League club this season, netted his ninth goal of the campaign on Saturday in a 3-1 win over FC Sion, their first victory in four games since the league resumed after a six-week break.

Zeqiri endeared himself to the Basel fans earlier in the season with a stunning goal in a 2-2 draw with Zalgiris which secured their place in the last 16 of the Europa Conference League. They take on Turkish outfit Trabzonspor on Thursday.

Zeqiri is one of 23 Albion players on loan in Europe, the EFL or with Scottish clubs. Nine of them headed for a new club during the January transfer window.

Of those, Hull City’s Aaron Connolly and Birmingham City’s Reda Khada have both scored twice, although Khadra missed Friday’s 2-0 win over West Brom with a hamstring injury.

Ed Turns (right) has scored in successive games for League 2 leaders Leyton Orient.

Ed Turns scored for the second successive game to help League Two leaders Leyton Orient to a 1-1 draw at Walsall while Todd Miller made his Doncaster Rovers debut last week as a substitute in a 4-1 loss to Mansfield Town.

It is Miller’s first taste of the EFL and he is pleased to be testing himself in a different environment. “There were another couple of clubs [in League 2] interested in signing me but I spoke to a few people who said how good the football is at Doncaster,” he said. “I feel the style we play will bring the best out in me.”

While other under-21 players Jack Spong (Crawley) and James Beadle (Crewe) have yet to make their debuts, defender James Furlong has played twice for Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership since heading to Fir Park, making his debut in a 3-1 loss to Aberdeen last Saturday.

Lorent Tolaj has made three appearances in the Scottish Championship for Dundee, and scored a penalty in last week’s SPFL Trust Trophy semi-final shoot-out against Raith Rovers, but Dundee lost 4-3 following a 2-2 draw after extra time.

Three Albion players are plying their trade in Belgium’s Juliper League. Steven Alzate scored his first goal for Standard Liege in the recent 4-1 defeat to Royal Antwerp. Liege are currently sixth in the table with Simon Adingra’s Royal Union St Gilloise second and unbeaten in the league since September. The 21-year-old Ivory Coast striker has scored six goals in 21 league appearances.

In the Belgian second-tier Antef Tsoungui has made two appearances since joining Lommel on loan, but they face a relegation play-off involving five other clubs are losing 2-0 to Lierse at the weekend.
