Leandro Trossard celebrates opening the scoring against Chelsea.

Leo Trossard was delighted to bring an end to a run of strong performances that had gone unrewarded as Albion secured their first win under Roberto De Zerbi.

A 4-1 thumping of Chelsea secured a victory at the sixth attempt for the Italian, bringing an end to a tough run of fixtures in October.

“We have had some really good performances under the new head coach and all that was lacking was the win and we got it in a brilliant way,” Leo said.

“First half we were all over them, we had great chances and you can see that we have the potential to score a lot of goals.

“With [Danny] Welbeck not playing and with me more as a No 9, as well as Pascal [Gross] playing out of position, maybe we surprised them, but the last couple of games we have played so well and not got the three points.

“You could see in the first half how we want to play under the new manager. We invited the press and then played through the lines and we scored some good goals.”

The Belgium international has seven goals in 12 Premier League appearances as he prepares for what is set to be his first World Cup with his country.

“Hopefully I can carry on my form for a lot longer and into the World Cup. It’s my first, I want to enjoy it.

“I don’t really pay too much attention to who I score against, I am just happy to score for the team and it gives me a lot of confidence.”
