Roberto De Zerbi has seen his side take two points from his four games in charge.

Roberto De Zerbi was pleased with a lot of tonight’s performance from his team, but knows there must be improvements if Albion are to return to winning ways soon.

Despite dominating the match against Forest and creating a host of chances, De Zerbi’s side failed to score for a third consecutive game – but the Italian head coach found some positives.

“I enjoyed the game a lot,” said De Zerbi. “I’m sorry for the result but I enjoyed the performance and I say thank you to the players because they played well. I can’t ask for much more.

“But we have to improve in the last 25 metres of the pitch. I want to work on that and I know what we have to do.

Roberto De Zerbi's Forest verdict

“We had chances to score and commanded the game. I don’t want to speak about being unlucky or the result now. I was happy watching the level we played, and now I just want to speak about improvements.”

While De Zerbi was happy with the performance against Forest, he was disappointed not to claim his first home win as Albion boss, and hopes he won’t have to wait much longer for victory at the Amex.

“I’m sorry for the players but the fans too that we couldn’t win. We did well and it’s nice playing here in front of them, but I want to win in this stadium.

“I’m sorry we couldn’t do that in the last two games here. The fans are very close to my players and very close with me. I hope we can win here soon.”
