Reda Khadra's strike was his first goal for Sheffield United since joining them on loan at the beginning of the season.

Reda Khadra’s first goal for Sheffield United couldn’t have come at a better time as he fired in a last-minute winner against Swansea City on Tuesday.

On a season-long loan with Paul Heckingbottom’s team, the 21-year-old struck in the fourth minute of stoppage time having been brought on as a substitute just 12 minutes earlier. It kept the Blades four points clear at the top of the Championship.

“It was a tough game until the last minute, but we fought well until the end as a team and I am happy I was able to help by scoring the winner,” Reda said.

The winger has made five appearances for Sheffield United so far this campaign.

“I was waiting for that moment to score my first goal and hopefully there are many more to come.

“It’s an unbelievable start. Well done to the team, it’s well deserved.”

The winger has made just one start so far this campaign, but says he is fully focussed on being at his best for the Blades.

“I wouldn’t say it’s been frustrating, in football you have ups and downs so you need to stay focussed and wait for the moment.

“My family have helped me a lot – my best friend, my girlfriend. It’s good to have the right people around me.

“Here we play different football to Blackburn [where Reda played last season on loan] where we focussed on counter-attacks. I need to get used to the way we play here, but I am getting there.”

Elsewhere in the EFL, Marc Leonard’s superb start to life with Northampton Town continued on Tuesday as he played the full 90 minutes in a 2-0 win at Wimbledon in League Two.

Lincoln City have had a mixed start to the campaign, but will no doubt have taken a huge confidence boost from their 2-0 win over Derby County as Carl Rushworth kept a clean sheet for the Imps. Defender Haydon Roberts played the full 90 minutes for Derby, who are 13th after eight games in League One.
