Graham Potter believes his players will look forward to what is sure to be an intense atmosphere when he takes his side to Elland Road to face Leeds United on Sunday.

Leeds need to win after slipping into the bottom three following defeats in their last three games and the head coach will make his players aware of what to expect.

A full house will get behind Jesse Marsch’s side, although a sold-out away section will be hoping to see Albion reach 50 points and cement their place in the top half of the table.

“It’s Elland Road and the last chance for their fans to support their team at home so we’re expecting a tough and challenging environment,” said Potter.

“I think you can see what Jesse [Marsch] is trying to do, and they have had three tough games which can knock you a little bit. But they had some good results before that and the things you associate with Leeds – their intensity and how they want the ball back and attack quickly – means it’s going to be a tough match but one we’re looking forward to.

“You have to make the players aware of what to expect. Leeds are fighting for their lives and their supporters will try to help them so it’s up to us to try and change that narrative and make it harder for them. It’s a good game for us. It’s not like we’re playing against a team with nothing to play for.”

Marsch knows his side face a difficult afternoon after watching Albion demolish Manchester United 4-0 last Saturday.

“I’ve heard the phrase said in England ‘they’re on the beach’ – but if you watch their game against Man United last weekend, you wouldn’t have said that, you would’ve said what an incredible performance.

“We saw a team that was very clear, very confident, good with the ball, good against the ball and I think that’s exactly what we’ll expect again. Preparing for them is a little tricky because they do different things in different phases of the match. It’ll be a great test and obviously one we know we need to get the result.”
