Leandro Trossard said the emotions took over when his last-minute winner secured all three points for Albion at Brentford.
The Belgium international scored the only goal of the game when he found some space on the edge of the Bees’ box before firing into the bottom right corner, sending the away supporters into raptures.
“It was a special way to win the game, especially to score in the last minute, the emotions took over,” Trossard said. “It’s a brilliant win for us, it was really tough as Brentford are a really good side – they haven’t lost a game in the Premier League until today.
“We dug in as a team, we fought for the ball and we wanted to get the clean sheet. It’s really important for the confidence of the team and I think everyone was brilliant.
“We need to keep pushing each other like this every week and if we do the results will come.”
The 26-year-old’s place in the starting XI came on the back of a hectic schedule with Belgium during the international break, having played in Belarus on Wednesday.
“I felt good today, it’s been a tough week with the travelling, but I really wanted to enjoy this game.
“I feel good at the moment with the minutes I am getting. The more games I can play the better I will play.”
