Hope Powell's team face Manchester United this Sunday.

Hope Powell says any additions to her squad next season must 'add value.'

Albion's head coach is not looking too far ahead with four WSL games and an FA Cup tie against Bristol City still to be played this season, starting at home to Manchester United on Sunday (2pm).

But she says that the club look long term when it comes to recruitment.

Asked whether the recently announced TV deal would give Albion more clout in the summer window, Powell said, “No not really. Regardless of the TV deal we will work within our budget and only bring in players who add value to the squad.

“Recruitment is an ongoing thing, and we plan for the window after next and the one after that. That's how it will work going forward all the time I am in this job.”

Albion are looking to bounce back from a 5-0 defeat against Everton last weekend against third-placed United.

“We're looking for a good reaction against United,” said Powell. “We’ve shown this season that on our day we can compete with any team in this league and Sunday will be no different to playing a lot of the top teams.

"They are going for third place and we know their capabilities. We will have to play well but if we work hard we can get something out of the game.”
