Hope Powell was a proud head coach after watching Albion make it four successive wins in the WSL.
Goals from Aileen Whelan midway through the first half and a late penalty by Inessa Kaagman sealed a deserved 2-0 win over Aston Villa at the Banks's Stadium.
Albion are up to sixth in the table after claiming their third successive clean sheet.
Powell said, “I'm really pleased. I thought the effort, application and determination was outstanding from all 11 and the two subs.
“Villa had quite a bit of the ball and they forced a lot of corners but we stood firm and defended well, not just [goalkeeper] Megan Walsh and the back four but the whole team. There was a real determination to keep the ball out of our net.
“We created some good chances too, especially in the first half, and deserved the three points. In patches I thought we played well. I think they made it hard for us at times but we were quite resilient and we managed to score a couple of goals.
“They've got some good pace up front so they took a bit of a gamble in the second half, they had to go for it. We knew that was going to happen but defensively we were well-organised and resilient. I don't think Megan had a save to make in the second half.
“I'm really pleased with the way the girls applied themselves. A lot of effort and application and I think we got the right result.”
Albion are in action again on Sunday week at home to Everton, who are four points above them in fifth.
“The ambition is to try and keep the run going now. We've got another tough game coming up but we'll enjoy this one and look forward to Everton.”
