Brighton & Hove Albion winger Solly March believes that the side did enough to win yesterday’s 0-0 draw with Watford at the Amex Stadium.
The hosts created a number of openings, particularly in the second half, but were thwarted by Ben Foster in the visiting goal on plenty of occasions.
He said, “I think their goalkeeper has earned them a point today, we got ourselves in some good positions and created some good chances, but couldn’t find the net.
“In both halves we felt we did well and feel like we’ve bounced back well after the midweek game.
“It’s difficult to pick out our best chance because there were a few – Shane’s [Duffy] had a bicycle kick cleared off the line and we had a few headed opportunities as well, before Florin [Andone] went one on one with Foster.
“The thing is we got in the positions, on another day we could have won by two or three goals, the feeling in the dressing room is that we played well.”
The wide man looked a threat to the Hornets defence all afternoon on the south coast, causing Javi Gracia’s men problems with his runs forward down the right flank.
“I just wanted to be direct in my play; I want to get on the front foot because more often than not the full-backs you’re facing don’t like it.
“I know myself that the more you get at them and get them running towards their own goal, the more they get frustrated that they can’t go forward, because there’s an emphasis on that as a full-back nowadays.
“I want to do that as much as I can, and of course add goals to my game as well.”
The stalemate followed a defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage in the team’s previous Premier League encounter, and March emphasised that the clean sheet and positive performance was a good response to the loss in the capital.
“We knew we had to bounce back after Tuesday evening, those two halves at Fulham were completely opposite.
“I think we did that, it’s a good point to gain, we just need to keep picking up points as often as we can, and we have a run of games coming up now where we feel like we can do that.
“If we perform in the way we did today and continue to create chances, then I’m confident we can take those and keep picking up results.”
