Brighton & Hove Albion will be searching for their first FA Women’s Super League win of the season when they take on Everton this afternoon.
Fresh off the back of an international break, Hope Powell’s side will be looking to convert some positive early season performances into points against an Everton team who sit one point and one place ahead of the Seagulls.
Last time out, Albion came up against current WSL champions Chelsea. After a shaky first half which saw the team trail 2-0 at the break, a much improved showing in the second period brought many chances but Albion were unable to find the back of the net.
Today’s opponents have had a tough start to the season, taking on the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and current second placed team Birmingham City. Despite not scoring a league goal all season, the Toffees managed a goalless draw against Chelsea.
A win for Albion would see the side leapfrog Everton, who are currently one point and one place above Albion in ninth and tenth position respectively, just ahead of bottom placed team Yeovil.
Albion supporters can follow the action from the game on the club’s official Twitter feed and a report and match reaction will be uploaded after the match.
