The history…

Albion and Blackpool have played each other 30 times dating back to 1972.

Albion's last win over this weekend’s opponents was in December 2013 at Bloomfield when as Inigo Calderon’s first half goal gave the visitors three points.

The contest that will stand out most to Albion fans of recent years was the 6-1 victory at the Amex in April 2013. A brace from Ashley Barnes and further goals from Will Buckley, Matthew Upson, Andrea Orlandi and David Lopez completed a convincing win.

The Blackpool Player to Watch…

Jerry Yates has notched eight times in all competitions already this season, including in the last round against West Brom at Bloomfield Road.

The former Swindon striker was also on target last weekend away to Hull City and is the side’s top scorer so far this campaign.

His tally is even more impressive given the fact he did not score his first goal of the season until the final day of October in an away win over Burton Albion.
