Albion's last Premier League win came on the road at Aston Villa.

Graham Potter believes Albion's performances have improved compared to last season, but accepts the only true measure of that is their points tally.

Albion reach the halfway mark in this season's campaign against Leeds on Saturday at Elland Road, having picked up 14 points from 18 games. At the equivalent stage last season they had 20 points.

Ahead of Saturday's match, the head coach was asked if he thought the performance against Manchester City could be a turning point in the campaign.

“The spirit and the performance level has always been there, but turning the corner for us is getting positive results. The players give everything, they're a good group who want to win and want to play well.

“They do everything I could ask of them as a coach. They leave everything on the pitch, they did that against Manchester City and they will need to do it against Leeds.”

A win at Elland Road in the first Premier League meeting between the teams could cut the gap between the sides to six points, but Potter is expecting it to be tough.

“Their style is unique and they do it well. They have had that winning feeling from the Championship, so they have belief and confidence in each other and in what they're doing, which comes from winning matches.

“They are a good team that's been really well drilled and coached. It will be a tough game.”

Ben White return to the club where he enjoyed promotion from the second-tier last season.

Ben White has been one of the first names on Albion teamsheet this campaign.

“Ben has had a week where he's gone back to two of his old clubs after Newport on Sunday. He can be proud of his time at Leeds, he helped them and they helped him.

“It was a perfect loan and he speaks highly of everything at Leeds United. He is very respectful of how they helped him and how they progressed his career. It was a fantastic time for him but he's our player and I am sure he will want to try and get the points against them.”
