Albion kicked off their league campaign with a 2-0 win over Birmingham City and a week later held last season's runners-up Manchester City to a 0-0 draw. Last Sunday they drew 2-2 with Birmingham in the Vitality Women's FA Cup, before losing 4-2 on penalties.

United began their league season by holding champions Chelsea to a 1-1 draw before beating Birmingham 5-2 away from home three weeks ago.

Past meetings

The teams met three times last season with United winning twice. They triumphed 4-0 in the first ever meeting between the clubs in November 2019 and then won 2-1 in a Continental Cup quarter-final in January when the Seagulls missed a penalty before Kayleigh Green scored from the spot late on.

The return league game in February finished 1-1 with Aileen Whelan on target for Albion.

One to watch

American World Cup winner Christen Press joined United earlier this month and could make her debut against Albion after undergoing a period of quarantine. The 31-year-old, who operates as a striker or in an advanced midfield role, has won 138 caps for her country. In the 2019 World Cup she played in all seven games for USA including the final and scored in the 2-1 semi-final victory over England. She has joined United from Utah Royals alongside team-mate Tobin Heath.

Hope Powell (Albion Head Coach): "It's another tough away game but after the result and performance against [Manchester] City we will go there with confidence and a game plan which if we execute will hopefully mean we can get another good result. We know they have some good players but it's not about them, it's about how we perform."

It's a fact

Albion are looking to keep three successive clean sheets in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League for the very first time.

Albion’s Rebekah Stott has made more interceptions (13) and won possession back on more occasions (23) than any other player in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League this season.

Manchester United are unbeaten in their last six Barclays FA Women’s Super League matches (W3 D3), with their 5-2 victory over Birmingham last time out the most they’ve scored in a single topflight game.
