Lewis Dunk says the Albion squad love working with head coach Graham Potter.
And after a year under Potter, the Albion skipper says the squad are targeting an improvement on last season’s 15th-placed finish.
Dunk said, “His coaching and man management are unbelievable. All the boys are enjoying working with him and love having him as a gaffer. We’ve been working on the way he wants to play and hopefully we can show that on the pitch this season.
“As soon as he came in everyone took to his methods well. We enjoyed it from the get-go and after a year we now have that experience of how he wants us to play. We’ve added a few players in the close season who have taken to his methods too.
“He’s mainly a tactician. I haven’t met a manager that sees it the way he does and it suits me. I feel I am improving under him.”
The 28-year-old believes the Seagulls should have finished with a bigger points tally last season.
“It was a mixed season for us,” added Dunk. “We started excellently and got some good results but then we got to Christmas and we didn’t win from then until lockdown, which came at a good time for us from a footballing perspective even though it was a tough period to go through.
“We should have beaten our top-flight record finish [13th in 1982], so this season we want to beat what we achieved last year,” he added.
“We know we need to score more goals. We want to make more chances and we’re working on that a lot in training and hopefully we can put more of them away.”
