Graham Potter says there is a lot to admire about tomorrow’s opponents Norwich City.

Daniel Farke’s men may prop up the Premier League table but Potter was keen praise what he’s seen from them since their promotion from the Championship last year.

He said, “I have a lot of respect for Norwich as a club and a team. I saw how they got promoted last year and there’s a good structure there - Daniel Farke has done a really good job. They have a clear plan and values and a strong idea of what they’re trying to do.

“They’ll learn from their experiences this season. When you have that sort of mentality you know they’ll fight and not give up.

“There have been some fine margins in their matches this season as well and they’re continuing to play some good football.”

Potter knows his side will have to be at the top of their game to complete the double over the Canaries following a 2-0 win at the Amex Stadium back in November.

“It’s always about the next game, in this league you can’t pick out matches as being easier than others,” he added.

“We just have to keep putting all of our resources into each match and, once that’s played, we move onto the next one.

“We’ve increased the gap between ourselves and the bottom three since the start of lockdown and we want to maintain that upwards momentum.”

Leandro Trossard came off the bench and had a noticeable impact in the second half against Manchester United on Tuesday, impressing his manager.

“Leo had a good impact on the game,” he added. “It’s his first season in a completely new environment, country and league and it does take time to settle. The first season is one where you are trying to adapt.

“He has done a lot of good things already this season and I’m sure he’ll tell you that there is more to come from him.

“That’s part of the process of adapting and improving. He has lots of qualities and will continue to be an important player for us, between now and the end of the season and going forward. We’re delighted to have him.

“He’s got great close control, can go on both sides and he’s a good finisher, so from an offensive point of view he can certainly help us. He can play off the left or as a second striker so we have some flexibility there.”
