Dan Burn battles for possession on Saturday.

Jordan Ayew’s goal was enough to claim all three points for the visitors despite Graham Potter’s team having 24 shots on goal, the centre-back says there is enough quality in the squad to bounce back from their current frustrating run of form.

He said, “The mood is still really positive and you wouldn’t be able to tell that we haven’t won in our last eight games.

“With our performances this season, we should be higher up the table, but the reality is we’re not and so it’s time to pick up points.

“We’ve got an experienced group that’s been in this situation before and I’m backing us to get out of it.”

Burn's Palace reaction

Burn admits the side were punished for their wastefulness in front of goal, but is confident that their luck will turn in the forward positions sooner rather than later.

“We’ve had a lot of openings, so to come away with nothing is very frustrating," he continued.

“The positive is that we are creating chances, I’d be a lot more worried if we were coming away from matches having not created any at all.

“We’ve got very good players in the forward areas and for one reason for another, it didn’t drop for us at the weekend. We probably need that bit of luck. They had a couple of chances and took one of them, but that’s football.”
